29/09/26 Unfortunately, Mark Wray has had to withdraw from the golf at Kenwick Park following an urgent operation on his hand. At short notice Mike Park has agreed to take Mark's place (thanks, Mike!). Mark still hopes to come along (if a room is available)

Rob Holliday wins at Filey

Our final round of 2026 was held at Filey Golf Club on a calm, mild day - perfect weather for a coastal course. And the scores reflected this, with an average of over 30 points per HGS player. We also welcomed back Richard Clancey (an early HGS member) as a guest.

The course was in excellent condition and was well worth the journey across to the coast. Unfortunately, attendance numbers were low, due to a combination of injury, holidays and conflicting commitments. A missed experience!

Rob Holliday and Mark Boast scored 35 points, with Rob winning on countback. This is Rob's 4th HGS win, his first since 2022.

Lance Porter's 34 points in 3rd place was more than enough for him to go ahead of Brian Williams in the overall President's Cup competition and win it with 104 points.

There were 9 birdies scored at Filey, but Ben Wilson managed to retain his lead from the last round to win the Birdies Cup.
