Ben Wilson wins at Bedale

Our second round venue this year was Bedale Golf Club, our 3rd HGS visit there. The course is favoured by many of our members, but the general view this time was that it was not in top condition. However, it still managed to create a major challenge to our members.

Scoring was low - the average Stableford score for the 28 attendees being only 23! This was quite a shock to most players, who seemed mightily relieved after the round when they realised that they were not alone!

But the cream did come to the surface. Ben Wilson scored an impressive 33 points off a playing handicap of 4. Well done, Ben, who won the HGS Trophy for the 3rd time. Kevin Lund came second with 30 points and Lee Chadwick was third with 29 points, on countback from Richard Scott.

Kevin Lund now leads the President's Cup competition, with 60 points, from Lee Chadwick on 59. Ben Wilson leads the Birdies Competition, with 4 birdies, from Brian Williams with 2.
